Longmont Residential & Commercial Water Treatment
Are you concerned about the safety, quality, or hardness of your water? Give our clean water pros a call! Water Works is the leading source for residential and commercial water treatment in Longmont and the surrounding area.
Water Testing
Not all threats are visible to the naked eye. Even though your water may appear to be clean and safe when it’s coming out of the tap, there’s no real way to tell unless you have it tested. Lead, fluoride, heavy metals, and other contaminants could put you and your family’s health at risk. Water Works offers a variety of water analysis services for Longmont homes and businesses including testing for residential water, well water, office water, health grade water, commercial, and industrial applications.
Water Softeners
Having hard water in your home or business can cause a variety of issues, the first and most obvious being an unpleasant taste and scent. Secondly, hard water can create buildup in your pipes which decreases pressure and may lead to blockages. Furthermore, you may find it difficult to get your clothes clean or have spotty dishes every time you run the dishwasher. Installing a water softener can help you overcome these challenges and more. Water Works installs many different types of water softeners including ion exchange, salt-free conditioners, reverse osmosis, magnetic, and more.
Water Purification
Water purification is one of the most pressing yet overlooked challenges that society faces today. Many people assume that since they have city water that’s been treated by a local facility, it’s safe to drink and use. But what they don’t realize is that contaminants can infect their water supply even after it leaves the treatment plant. Installing a water purification system for your home, office, or business can help you gain access to the clean, safe water you need for everyday life.
Water Filtration
Water filters are an effective and common method used to remove contaminants and improve the taste of tap water. Water filters can either be installed at the point of entry to provide clean water to your whole house or a single point of use such as a kitchen sink. Water Works is proud to offer a full selection of water filtration systems for you to choose from including whole house filters, reverse osmosis systems, under-sink, drop-in, and in-line filters, and more.
Additional Services
Looking for something else? We can help! All of our solutions are custom designed based on the needs of each individual customer. In addition to the services mentioned above, we also provide chloramine removal, pH balancing, radionuclide treatment, ozone treatment, and more.
Is the Drinking Water Safe in Longmont?
Perhaps you just moved into a new home. Or maybe you’ve been drinking the tap water in Longmont for years. Either way, you’ve started to wonder, is the drinking water safe in Longmont? It’s a good question to ask! After all, legal limits for contaminants in tap water have not been updated in almost 20 years.
Longmont’s water supply is managed by the City of Longmont. Longmont’s water is derived from snowmelt and rain that comes from nearby streams, lakes and reservoirs. Major sources include the St. Vrain Creek, the Colorado River, and the Fraser River. Water is then treated at the Nelson-Flanders Water Treatment Plant.
You can find more information on the water quality in Longmont by visiting the City of Longmont website.
Longmont Water Contaminants
Some of the most commonly detected water contaminants in Longmont include Trichloroacetic acid, Trihalomethanes, Haloacetic acid, Dichloroacetic acid, Chromium, Chloroform, Lead, Copper, and Bromodichloromethane.
Water Quality in Longmont Neighborhoods
Water Works is proud to serve the entire city of Longmont and the surrounding area. Below, you will find some information about the water quality in popular neighborhoods.
Eastside Historic District
Located between Fourth and Eighth avenues between Kimbark and Atwood Street, the Eastside Historic District is home to some of Longmont’s oldest properties. Residents in this area should take care to have their water tested regularly to monitor for corroded household plumbing and lead contamination.
Westside Historic District
The Westside is another prominent historic neighborhood in Longmont. Homes in this area may contain plumbing components made from lead and/or copper. We highly recommend installing a water purification system if you live in this area.
Somerset Meadows
While Somerset Meadows is one of the new neighborhoods in Longmont, we have had a number of requests for water softeners for homes in this area. Water softeners help remove minerals and are a great option for improving the taste and cleanliness of your water.
Benefits of Water Purification & Filtration Systems
The quality of your water is determined by more than just its taste. pH levels, hardness, and contaminant levels are also important factors that should be taken into consideration. One of the best ways to improve the quality of your home or business water supply is to install a water purification or filtration system. This technology offers many benefits like:
- Constant access to clean water: No more trips to the store for plastic water bottles! With a water filtration system, you’ll have 24/7 access to clean, safe water in your home.
- Safe for at-risk persons: Certain populations are more at risk of being affected by water contaminants. Removing contaminants from your water is a great way to ensure that it’s safe for everyone, regardless of their age or level of health.
- Environmental impact: Buying plastic water bottles is not only inconvenient, but also bad for the environment. Once you have a water filter, you can use reusable bottles and drinking glasses instead.
- Tastebud approved: Filtered water tastes better and is free of unpleasant odors.
Other benefits: Other benefits include cleaner water for chores, dishes, laundry, and bathing.
Why Consider a Water Softener?
Hard water is a common issue experienced by many Coloradoans. Hard water not only is notorious for its unpleasant taste, but can also be taxing on your household pipes. Installing a water softener is one of the easiest ways to reduce the level of your water hardness. Water softeners are beneficial because they:
- Save money on soap: People use about 50% less soap and detergent when they have a water softener.
- Less scum and buildup: You won’t have to remove as much soap scum or clean your sinks and shower as often.
- Cleaner, longer lasting clothes: Soft water is better for doing laundry and can help your clothes come out cleaner and last longer.
- Softer skin and hair: Our customers often notice a difference in the softness of their skin and hair.
Less damaging on pipes: Hard water can be tough on your pipes and cause issues with water pressure, clogs, and leaks.
